VICEROY L’ERMITAGE BEVERLY HILLS WEDDING | CHANTELLE + ERIK

Where to even begin with these two. In all honesty I could stop writing now because whatever follows will never do justice to how epic Chantelle and Eriks VICEROY L’ERMITAGE BEVERLY HILLS WEDDING was. Not only was this wedding a cornerstone for me but the team of incredible vendors that was assembled truly out did themselves. The evening was small and intimate but you would have never guessed it with the huge amounts of love being displayed. Chantelle and Erik were referred to me by Natalie Sofer of Natalie Sofer Weddings and Events, who if anyone has had the pleasure of working with knows how incredibly amazing she is, inside and out.

From the first moment we spoke I just knew this was going to be very special. From the way we all just felt like we had known each other for years to our similar interests aligning. All the way down to our favorite anime Cowboy Bebop. If you follow me on IG you may have noticed I used quite a lot of quotes from Bebop for their captions. The fact we all love gaming and RPG’s, have a passion for fashion and even the little chamber in our hearts for metal. All this on top of the fact that their from Boston, the home of the NBA’s most dominant team in history as well as my childhood favorite CELTICS. ( I may delete that little fact later since my main market is LA and I want to avoid the hate mail HAHAHA ). Connecting with people on that level is a rare thing for me and well probably for most of us adults. We tend to box ourselves in and stick to what we know, not willing to venture out and see the awesome that others bring to life. When these things happen it makes me want to be that extrovert who meets everyone.

I have to tell you, I love small wedding parties. Don’t get me wrong larger parties are fun too but with small wedding parties and less moving parts your flexibility increases exponentially, shots get done quicker and there’s more time to connect with everyone involved. To be truthful I always trip out when I get to work with super huge wedding parties ( one time I had 32 people! ) because well…shit I don’t have that many friends I know well enough to include in a special occasion! Joking aside it’s awesome to be able to get to know everyone. I think our total guest count for Chantelle and Erik’s VICEROY L’ERMITAGE BEVERLY HILLS WEDDING was about 25? Sign me up!

After we wrapped with wedding party pictures Chantelle, Erik and I whipped around a few blocks for creatives. We used anything and everything to our disposal and they nailed every shot. It didn’t matter what weird senseless thing I asked, they rocked it. We used art structures in the middle of center divides, jumped out of my Jeep in the middle of the street to get some rad tree lines, found strange corporate buildings with rad lines and colors and that was just outside the venue. Up on the roof there is a small section used for other events that was pretty cluttered with random things. I don’t care. I pulled hedge walls around along with glass top tables for a couple rad shots and used the mute gray wall for Chantelle’s amazing veil image. We could not be stopped, I felt like Juggernaut running through walls with a Hold Fast on.

The reception was put together beautifully by Natalie. Every table had a hand written calligraphy note from Chantelle and Erik ( see why small weddings are awesome? Try doing that with 300 guests HAHA ). One thing I noticed about the reception was the high walls on the backside, this gave me an idea, I needed to get up there. So while everyone was eating I ventured off and found a door slightly open…I went in. Walking through the dark I noticed a small white fire escape leading to the motherland so what to do? Yeah. When I got to the top the only way to get my shot was to walk along a one foot ledge towards the reception, mind you I’m pretty high up. My ninja training finally paying itself off I snap a few and head back down. To get a reception with an amazing city skyline…I can check that off my bucket list. For anyone at VICEROY L’ERMITAGE BEVERLY HILLS reading this, sorry but it had to be done.

There’s an old saying by Jim Morrison I’ve always latched onto ” A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself “. For me this was my experience. Talking anime, music, life and just general BS’ing with two people I had met so briefly speaks to that unseen thread that’s out there connecting like minds to each other. These two will hold that special something inside me and to be able to create art for them on the most important day of their life is something I’ll hold tight to. Chantelle and Erik’s VICEROY L’ERMITAGE BEVERLY HILLS WEDDING was like the Voltron of weddings for me. Except instead of five lions coming together for the fight we had 30 lions come together for the celebration.
