Hey everyone! Today’s wedding is all about family, kicking butt and maximizing the most you can out of the places you are. Jing and Dean was referred to me by Heather Brunsell of Forever & Always Weddings and Events . If you’ve ever worked with her you’d know she has some really rad clients and more importantly she rocks and is always on top of her game. This was on full display for Jing and Deans BREA COMMUNITY CENTER WEDDING. Hair / Make up was done by none other than Kala at Kelly Zhang Studio.

We started our day out in the hills of Hacienda Heights at a beautiful AirBNB. Jing and her girls were using 90% of the house while Dean was locked away in his room for pretty much the entire time hahaha! It was pretty funny and some shuffling was done from room to room to block his views but we got to nail down some great groom prep shots early so not to have to squeeze them in later in the day when time permitted. Jing, her girls and family were all in the main room having a blast by the way haha. Once we finished up there we headed out to Bastanchury Park in Fullerton for our first look, wedding party pictures and some creatives. We found an amazing tree line near the end of some basketball courts, I’m telling you….if you know how to frame you would have never guessed that we were on a basketball court HA! Value that experience in your photographer so you can look good any where at any time. Once we wrapped up at Bastanchury we headed over to the BREA COMMUNITY CENTER to get our ceremony on.

Ceremonies are one of my favorite times of a wedding. It’s pure photojournalism, sometimes there’s crying, often times laughing and you get to sneak around finding rad angles to capture the moment. The BREA COMMUNITY CENTER has a pretty rad area for ceremonies located right in the center of the property, with a cool gazebo as well. What’s nice about this is that off to the right is a pathway you can use to get around and behind the action without distracting any guests from the celebration. Choosing a venue that has a good set up is worth so much more than one that’s pretty but affords difficulty moving around. Think of it like that old saying ” never judge a book by it’s cover “. Sometimes the least likely of places offers something amazing that is overlooked by many.

After the ceremony we moved out front of The BREA COMMUNITY CENTER for a few more wedding party shots and then this is when Jing and Dean changed into their Hanboks. I’m a sucker for Hanboks and although we didn’t get to do Pyebeck ceremony, I just love the way Hanboks photograph. I may have mentioned before that my wife is Korean, so that culture is big in my household. Seeing others in Hanboks always bring a sense of home to me…and jealousy when theirs looks nicer than mine haha!

The reception was filled with games and the celebration of family and friends. We had these confetti filled balloons for decoration behind the sweet heart so I suggested before I leave we pop them on the dance floor. This was so much fun!

I wish Jing and Dean the absolute best of luck in the future and in Alaska ( where I believe Dean is stationed, what an incredible state )! For now please enjoy this awesome below.
