” Paris is always a good idea “
~ Audrey Hepburn ~
One of my favorite actresses from one of my favorite periods. The beauty and confident innocence that Hepburn wields is something that when I was a very young child had stuck with me. Classic story from Sabrina to Roman Holiday all hold a place in my heart for the underlying morals and playfulness of the situations they find themselves in. Overcoming odds, risking safe for adventure and hell just saying what you feel instead of holding it in. These stories taught us more than we all truly know. Now why do I start this blog off like this? It’s because during this wedding I was reminded of all these qualities in different ways and because Eric had proposed to Jessica in Paris, so what better way to tie it all together with their TURNIP ROSE CELEBRATIONS WEDDING.
How did you two meet?
We met during our sophomore year in high school, we were in the same English class for a short period of time but we didn’t start dating until our senior year. Eric was bold and he took a chance and called me out of the blue one day after asking a mutual friend for my phone number.
How did he/she propose?
We decided to plan a trip to Paris to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and to commemorate the occasion we decided to hire a photographer to take our pictures while there…What I didn’t know, however, was that Eric was planning on proposing and had e-mailed the photographer separately to let him know about his plans. When we got to the photo shoot location at the trocadero, I was shocked! It was one of the most amazing days of our lives.
What did you envision your wedding prior to planning?
We wanted to have a wow factor during the ceremony and a lounge style that kept people dancing during our reception and it was exactly what we found in our venue.
What was your color palette and style vision?
Our vision was to use modern decor. Our colors were blush, rose gold and navy blue; we wanted colors that worked for spring but were also appropriate for an evening wedding.
What unique elements / DIY aspects did you include?
We spray painted white frames rose gold to add to guests’ tables; we made our own candy table and did our own backdrop for the table; we designed our own guest book by adding instax pictures and included our own props for the photobooth.
What was your favorite moment?
We have two favorite moments – when we first saw each other during our first look and during our ceremony when we read our vows and said our “I do’s”.
Describe your wedding in your own words.
Our wedding was incredible at TURNIP ROSE CELBRATIONS! It was a night filled with the love and joy shared between us and our family and friends. And it was so much fun!!
What is one piece of advice you have for brides to be?
Ask for guests to RSVP earlier than you need them to, it will save you a lot of time and prevent so many headaches!
Don’t compromise your wants and needs for anyone else, just do what you and your husband want to do!!
