What I’m really thinking is ” DAMN I have to get back to SMOKY HALLOW! ” Hahaha! This little hidden gem of a venue is BY FAR one of the coolest I’ve seen in South Los Angeles. It has character in spades with rustic dark / moody tie ins, chalk board walls and to top it all off…an INCREDIBLE bridal suite. Outside is a urban/edgy style setting which compliments the theme perfect.
We started our day off at the hotel a few minutes away from SMOKY HALLOW. What I love so much is when everyone is having a great time and pretty much ignore me during prep hahaha seriously though…the day is not about your vendors so the more time and fun you have with your bridesmaids, groomsman and guests the more fun we have capturing all the cool moments. Often times I like to set the stage for something to happen during prep, you know just to nudge the moment a little :). I had asked the maid of honor to grab all of the old towels from the bathroom, once she gave those to me I laid them out in the front of the nice open light window and when the time was right we had a perfect spot to shake that bubbly bottle and pop it open! See the key is to never let room service take the towels before I arrive, this way when we make a crazy mess it’s super easy to clean up AND THEN have room service come and take them haha. It was an awesome moment and even though I was sprayed all over I didn’t care in the least!
Once we arrived at SMOKY HALLOW it was on! Heather Brunsell of Forever and Always Events rocked it! The decor was beautiful and the mood was set. Up in the bridal suite at SMOKY HALLOW we made our last preparations, rocked some AMAZING group shots and got down to business haha. Throughout the entire day Grace and Louis were laughing and having fun, it really didn’t matter when and it was contagious! During prep check, middle of the ceremony check, first dance check, Louis has these incredible faces he’d make and it would get her every time hahahaha! They were a dream to work with and it seemed like every time I turned around there was another great shot of their infectious smiles. Another super cool thing, EVERYONE AT THEIR WEDDING WAS THIS WAY HAHA! I’m going to go out on a limb and say that every single guest the next day had their cheeks hurting from all the smiling. The AWESOME warm, rustic tones from SMOKY HALLOW made for an incredible ceremony and reception.
Enough talk about the venue and myself! You want to see the AMAZING pictures we got at SMOKY HALLOW right? Well get your scroll on!
