What do you get when you have a rainy day and a PASADENA CITY HALL ENGAGEMENT session scheduled? Well you shoot right through it! Luckily we caught a nice break through the drizzle but the great thing about PASADENA CITY HALL is that a lot of the areas are covered so worst case is we could have dipped inside real quick, we didn’t need to though. Ale and Peter showed up and looked incredible, I’m a sucker for gowns so when I had seen she chose an emerald green ball gown…I was so happy. She looked like a Disney princess. It’s not often this happens so quickly I had to shift focus from their attire to more of a ” what will be the best look for them ” train of thought. I knew exactly what we’d do within a few seconds.

In order to loosen my couples up a bit I like to start from farther away. No one likes someone right up in your mug so by doing this it allows some free space to somewhat forget I’m even there. It also sets the tone for a couple to be more themselves and spend time with each other without a third wheel two feet away snapping pictures, the element of awkwardness is something I like to get out of the way right off the bat.

Whenever I come here ( which is a lot ) I have to push myself to use different aspects of PASADENA CITY HALL. Sometime’s I’ll spend the entire session inside, other times I won’t even step foot inside. There are literally so many areas in and around this area that no two shoots should look alike. I love that. Yes sometimes I get asked for a shot in a specific area but 99.9% of the time I’m hired for my vision and the way I see the world around us.
