LA PEER HOTEL WEDDING

One the questions I get a lot of ( as well as other photographers I presume is ” Have you worked at – insert location here – ? “. It’s a funny question to me, with 1000’s of venues in California and me taking on 30-40 a year there is a solid chance that no I haven’t. The better question would be ” How would you go about adapting to the venue? “. Edwin and Eric’s LA PEER HOTEL WEDDING was no different.

Typically I arrive at venues about an hour early, that’s pretty damn early. This gives me time to walk around and find cool spots and most of the time areas that no one else have thought to rock. I take mental notes of what kind of light I’ll need and that’s how I adapt. So to anyone reading this who is going to make their decision based on if someone has worked a venue before or not please be prepared to have the same exact pictures as the 100’s and 1000’s of couples before you at those venues. I think we deserve more and I know you deserve more.

LA PEER HOTEL is a pretty awesome place. It’s in DTLA, has a beautiful rooftop for ceremonies and receptions and the lobby and rooms are amazing for getting creative. For this LA PEER HOTEL WEDDING though I wanted to incorporate a little bit of the outside colors as well as the lobby. Needless to say Edwin and Eric rocked it. To add to all the awesomeness their wedding was taking place on the same day as LA’s first PRIDE parade. So the excitement and party was in full effect.

We started our morning in the suite ( which was amazing ). With accents of Bowie and Kate Moss books on the walls, two of my absolute favorite inspirations. Afterwards we headed down to the lobby and outside areas to knock out some rad pictures using walls, wood plank dividers and the great concrete structures inside. Natalie Sofer ( rockstar wedding planner ) had this AMAZING idea of using some PRIDE balloons for a picture and I was so happy she did because what can beat rainbow unicorns??? Exactly, nothing.

I could go on and on about the great rooftop ceremony or how we found a sheet metal maze up top to get some rad pictures but I want you to see how the story unfolded itself and not take too much time reading. Really all you need to know is this : LA PEER HOTEL WEDDINGS are awesome, Edwin and Eric had the time of their life and Natalie Sofer yet again put together an amazing experience for them.
