How often am I ever going to be able to use quotes from this incredible show? Probably this only time, because it’s not only fitting in it’s words to live by but also because Duncan is a fellow browncoat haha. As soon as I saw that Serenity tattoo….I knew we we’re going to get along juuuussttt fine haha!

Though we didn’t spend much time talking about the show we did talk about pretty much everything else. The incredible wedding coming up at LA Athletic Club, their love of burritos and pizza ( this alone has my heart haha! ) you know, everything.

For Amanda and Duncan’s EL MATADOR BEACH ENGAGEMENT we started off using some of the greenery up top. I like to do this because once you trek down the loooooooong staircase you’re relegated to rocks, sand and water. It’s nice to try to add something different to the mix.

Once we wrapped that up we started our decent. Using the overhang for our first shots, the Goonie cave for the second set and then some nice walks on the beach. I love the somewhat cliched ” beach walk ” and here’s why : 1. The view is always solid and look great 2. Couples ALWAYS have the look of enjoyment when doing them and finally 3. WHO DOESN’T LIKE WALKING ON THE BEACH??? Hahaha. This one simple shot can loosen a couple up, bring them closer together and also ( and this doesn’t always happen ) helps poses look wayyy more natural.

Right before we wrapped the session I had the idea to see if we could scale one of the larger rocks for a killer silhouette. Amanda braved it like the rock star she is  and we came away with an incredible capture that is rarely seen from EL MATADOR BEACH. I love it when I can get some new fresh perspective from a place that see’s hundreds of shoots a week.

We’re going to have a blast at the wedding and I can’t to see what I can talk them into again for some INCREDIBLE images!
