Yo! So here’s the short and sweet. The EOS R6 was announced, I pre-ordered….and they pushed it back all the way to Dec. So I needed a couple bodies and decided to scoop up some EOS RP’s and an EOS R for the wedding coming up before December. So is the CANON EOS RP IN 2020 good enough for banging around some weddings?

So why the EOS RP you might be asking, because the updated AF is still faster than Fuji’s AND Nikons in my honest opinion ( I shot Nikon 15 yrs as well as the Zed6’s ) AND I needed something fast and inexpensive for the elopement I had coming up. So why not. At the very least I knew it would be as good as the Zed6’s.

So fast and furious incoming, here’s my version of pros / cons.

Pros – Cheap as hell, great for  second or third body, files are clean AF, high ISO is good enough ( I keep mine below 3200 so this shit never matters to me ), light, RF mount.

Cons – 1/4000 shutter speed, menu swimming.

That’s it. I don’t give a shit about one cards slots or it not being magnesium alloy titanium craze. I push and pull files all day and for the RP price point it’s a no brainer for me as a second or third body and even a main for engagement sessions.

So below are some shots of my kids and a few from the quick elopement out in San Diego. Also side note – RF glass is badass. So is the CANON EOS RP IN 2020 good enough for weddings? No doubt.
