“Life is not the amount of breaths you take, it’s the moments that take your breath away.”
~ Alex Hitch ~
So much happens in ones life that sometimes we forget about what it took to get to where we are. From the very small to the enormous life changing events we all endure. Though everything we encounter and interact with is dependent solely on the decisions we make in that moment, not the time it took to get there. One may have love at first site and another a slow burn that grew over the years, each one reaching that place we all yearn for but each one reaching it none the less. Emotion is incredible, seeing it in action week after week is incredible and watching the expressions that befall my brides and grooms faces is priceless. Seeing this in motion at Tracie and Marcelious’s SMOKY HALLOW WEDDING was powerful and moving.
We started our day at The Portofino Hotel in Redondo. Tracie and the girls upstairs in the bridal suite, Marcelious and his guys downstairs in the meeting room. One of the things I absolutely love about The Portofino is the guest lobby. It is a beautiful baby blue laden room with a huge fireplace overlooking the marina. The windows are plenty and let in a killer soft light across the entire room. Because we were on such a tight schedule and they decided to the traditional first look we weren’t able to do bride / groom images there BUT what we couldn’t do there we absolutely crushed later at their SMOKY HALLOW WEDDING.
SMOKY HALLOW is an artists loft down in South Bay. To say it’s amazing would be selling it short, from the rustic exposed wood and brick bridal suite to the chalkboard walls that span the entire reception room it is always a treat when I get to shoot here. Armed with some of the best vendors in the industry I knew the night would go off without a hitch as well as be as beautiful as it could…and how oh so right I was.
The night was filled with awesome. We had some amazing speeches, a guy that was on American Idol ( I think that’s what I heard ) serenaded Tracie and Marcelious, we had a crazy expensive bottle of Henney that was cracked and whittled down into a few sips left and lastly we had two beautiful people party the night away as newly weds embracing that emotion and ready to conquer the world as husband and wife, focusing on those moments that take each others breath away.
The awesome team that brought everything together :

Maricela Chamagua of Aliciaccreative
