In my line of work I get to rock with rad people almost every weekend. All of the time is someones best day of their life and to be able to be a part of that is so cool and humbling. What adds to that in indescribable ways is when it’s someone in your family. When my brother James told me he was going to propose to Vanissia I was stoked, not only because we were going to have an amazing to the family but also because you could hear in his tone how much he loves her and for me that’s all I needed to be on board this OAK GLENN PROPOSAL.

We planned this out for months. Trying to keep my mouth shut and not tell a soul was pretty tough but I managed…somewhat ( I had to tell my wife! ). Speaking of which, my wifey was kind enough to meet James out in Down Town LA to help him pick out a rock for Vanissia, which any guy reading this can probably agree is awesome because the last thing we want to do is get something a girl won’t like ( you have plenty of time to make that mistake AFTER you’re married HAHAHAHA! )

So the way we decided to set this whole thing up was pretty clever. They both know me and what I do so I essentially just told him to tell her that I needed to scout locations and that I need models for it, easy. Because we did it this way she didn’t think anything was out of the norm, we kept informal and just hung out. Also what’s great about this is that I was able to use some off camera lighting because hey we’re just helping Bryan out.

We headed out to OAK GLENN to what I thought would be some rad areas, but OH little did I know that EVERYONE would be up that way on this particular weekend. And that sucked. We drove around for about 15-20 minutes trying to find a new spot and we ended up just saying fuck it let’s just barge someones apple field. So we drove up a one lane road, pulled off to the side and did our thing. Residents were super cool with us being there ( so thank you for that ) and mostly just wanted us to know not to scare the wild life and that there may be bears around.

After about 20 min of shooting I had them change outfits and that’s when James grabbed the ring out of his bag. Once that happened it was all smooth sailing and I did a little mini engagement shoot for them. Everything was awesome and went exactly to plan.
