The long blog goodnight. I got to rock a wedding right down the street from my house, it was incredible not traveling and being to coast home after the long day. So thank you KNOLLWOOD COUNTRY CLUB WEDDING, you were fantastic and gave Risza, Alex and I a place to flex and get creative.
We had a traditional Buddhist ceremony in NOHO and then jettted over to KNOLLWOOD COUNTRY CLUB in Granada Hills. The ceremony was super rad. Parades, monks and an unlimited supply of watering hands to purify, soo goood. Actually one of my favorite images taken was from this event and by favorite I mean of all time. This was right before the covid thing did it’s thing so I was happy to not see a mask anywhere….because you may or may not know how I feel about them.
I digress though. You know, KNOLLWOOD COUNTRY CLUB being so close and all you’d think I might have been rocking there a few times but this isn’t actually the case. I’ve been there to look around before but never had a gig there. It’s pretty awesome. The back area has a nice garden style lawn big enough for family shots and wedding party, then behind that is a cool pine tree laden area where the sun cuts right through the trees so you can play with all types of light. I liked that area a lot. Out front, because the venue is elevated, there is a great spot where you can play with the skyline.
Now was it all peaches and cream? Nope. The prep rooms need a lot of work ( although it was decorated nice ) and more window light. At times it felt like a small prison. Add a large window and that feeling would definitely go away. Other than that small nitpick, all good.
So if you plan on booking KNOLLWOOD COUNTRY CLUB for your wedding or you have a gig there, make sure to do the detail work outside or just get prepped at a hotel. You can thank me later. All I want is for you to be stoked so might as well tell you now. The staff there kicked ass too.
At the end of the night it was good ol fashioned reception fun. A lot of dancing and drinking, a lot of arms around each other love. Perfect ending.
